Sometimes life has a way of bringing you back to a dream you almost forgot.

Over seven years ago, when our family moved to Rooihuiskraal, I drove past a local laundromat and said to my husband, “One day I’m going to own that laundromat.” At the time, we were expecting our first son, Axel, and it felt like a dream for the distant future.

Life carried on, our family grew, and I continued working for a company I loved. Then, unexpectedly, circumstances changed and I found myself at a crossroads. One morning, that dream from years ago came rushing back. I contacted the owner of the laundromat and asked a simple question: “Would you consider selling?”

As it turned out, the owners had moved overseas and were already considering their options. After a series of discussions, the dream that started seven years earlier became a reality.

The laundromat needed a fresh start, and we got to work. We renovated, repainted, redesigned the space, and transformed it into the business it is today. Alongside our laundry services, we now offer quality cleaning products at affordable prices, as well as convenient copy and print services for our community.

Today, Rooihuiskraal Laundry & Soap Shop is more than just a business—it’s the fulfilment of a dream, a commitment to our community, and the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our family.
